Advanced Photo System - Sometimes referred to as APS. The new imaging system centered around a new film cartridge, with cameras, film, and photo finishing all talking to one another to avoid errors, produce pictures of the best quality, and organize these pictures for easy retrieval.
Colour Temperature Control - Allows the user to customize picture and white balance to their own personal taste by using three selectable settings.
Personal Information Manager - Refers to applications for computing devices that organize personal information, such as addresses, dates, and task lists. Frequently abbreviated as PIM.
Front Panel A/V Inputs - Permit easy connection of extra video equipment, such as a camcorder, VCR or video game system. There are three inputs on the front panel of the receiver.
MegaPixel CCD - Image sensor found on select Hitachi DVD Camcorders. Provides 1.1 million pixels for ultra-sharp video and still photos. Still photo resolution on Hitachi DVD Camcorders that have a MegaPixel CCD is 1280x960.
Datacasting - The inclusion of additional data in the broadcasting stream. Such data may be related to the current program (e.g. sports statistics) or may be completely independent (e.g. software downloading or traffic advisories).
Game Sync Inputs - These inputs are available on SONY tabletop systems for use with gaming systems. They give the user a virtual surround sound gaming enhancement.
