Bitmap Graphics - Graphics that are constructed of individual pixels.
ROM - Read only memory. Used for static information on computers.
RAM - Random access memory. Temporary storage for computer files.
Oversampling (CD players) - Multiplying the sampling frequency (44.1kHz) in a CD player to a higher frequency to shift noise components above audible levels. This feature creates a gentler low pass filter with more musical characteristics. This process usually yields a data rate of 352.8 kHz through 8x oversampling.
Convergence - An adjustment that must be made occasionally to CRT sets. This adjustment makes the three colors coincide perfectly.
Raster - A group of closely-spaced lines whose brightness changes so as to appear to be an image.
Y, PB, PR - A method for carrying the video between HDTV or SDTV devices that retains the maximum quality and is recommended for HD television. The video is carried on three cables, respectively carrying luminance (Y) and the two color difference signals (PB, PR).
