LCD. (Liquid Crystal Displays) - A flat panel technology, using thin-film crystal techniques, widely used in laptop computers, other small portable displays and more recently in televisions. Image brightness can be very high and color performance can be good. For HDTV, wide-screen displays of adequate resolution are available up to about 94 cm (37 in.) for direct viewing. LCD devices are also widely used as the key element in many projection televisions, both front and rear screen, up to very large sizes.
Time Slip™ Function (Panasonic) - By pressing the Time Slip button once during recording, a user can play back a scene recorded 30 seconds before or any time frame they wish. Functions with CHASING PLAYBACK and SIMULTANEOUS RECORD AND PLAY (all a part of DVD-RAM technology).
SLR Camera - The most expensive of all digital cameras, digital SLRs offer complete manual control, higher resolution, advanced exposure control, and the benefits of detachable lenses. Due to the lens design, digital SLR's are not capable of shooting video.
Tollsaver - With the ring delay switch set to toll saver, an incoming call is answered on the fourth ring, if no previous messages have been received, and on the second ring otherwise. This feature tells the user if there are no recorded messages, and the user simply hangs up before the fourth ring.

Pentaprism - The prism that sits on the top of most SLRs. The pentaprism transmits the light reflected upward by the camera's mirror into the camera's eyepiece.
PSIP data - (Program and System Information Protocol) - This data is arranged as a table with multiple sub-tables. The data identifies the station name, what the sub-channels are, the program name, the following programs, content advisories, language options, and caption options. Some of this data is transmitted as often as 7 times per second.
