Composite Signal - Also referred to as a direct video connection, it typically uses an "RCA" pin jack to connect a VCR, DVD player or satellite box. The video signal is separated from the audio signal which improves the picture performance when compared to a simple RF, or coaxial, connection.

SQPB (S-VHS Quasi Playback/S-VHS ET) - Allows a TV/VCR combo to play tapes recorded in S-VHS format. Although the feature does not produce S-VHS resolution, it allows playback of otherwise incompatible Super VHS tapes.
Dolby Digital (Dolby AC-3) - The 5.1 channel audio standard for DTV and HDTV in Canada and the USA. It includes six discreet audio channels - Left, Center, Right, Left Surround (or side), Right Surround (or side), and a subwoofer -- LFE, "low frequency effects" -- (considered the ".1" as it is limited in bandwidth). Many televisions process these six channels into a two channel stereo pair and do not provide the full 5.1 channel surround sound.
Synchro Start - Allows your CD player and cassette deck to operate in sync, simplifying the CD to tape music transfer process.
Aspect ratio - The ratio of screen width to screen height. For TVs it is either 4:3 (1.33:1) or 16:9 (1.78:1). Theater film uses many different aspect ratios, some as high as 2.5:1.
