File Format - The particular arrangement of digital information that is saved from an application program. The method of arrangement or storage is unique for any particular application program, but most applications can import and export standardized graphic and text file formats, such as TIFF, GIF, and EPS graphics; or RTF or ASCII text.
ISO - ISO is a measurement of a digital camera's imaging sensor's sensitivity. Digital cameras with high ISO capability are better able to take low-light images and pictures of fast moving objects.
Metadata - Informational data about the data, included in a signal's data stream.
Voice Activated Recording - The answering system automatically stops recording an incoming message if the caller is silent for eight seconds or more.
Point and Shoot - A point and shoot camera offers few or no manual controls and very simple operation. Focus, exposure, and most other adjustments are completely automatic; all the owner needs to do is aim and push the shutter button. Most advanced cameras also have point and shoot modes.
Decoder - See "codec." A device or program that translates encoded data into its original format (i.e., it decodes the data.)
Surround Output Level - Allows adjustment of the rear speaker level relative to the front speaker level according to viewing location and individual preference.
