EDTV - This acronym stands for "Enhanced Definition Television." It refers to a complete products/system with at least a digital receiver display scanning format, and Dolby Surround Sound audio output capabilities.
Megapixel - A measure of resolution that reflects the ability of a digital camera to record detail. Densitometer - A device used to measure the density of light transmitted or reflected by paper or film. It is used to check the accuracy, quality and consistency of an output device.
VirtualHDT Video Processing Circuitry - Proprietary Hitachi circuitry that digitally upconverts conventional sources to 1,080 progressive lines (twice the display speed of HDTV). This additional picture information enables the processor to make extremely accurate determinations when optimizing the signal to the high-definition capability of the display. Whether it is a DVD, basic cable or satellite channel, or a VCR, VirtualHD 1080p presents the best possible picture regardless of the signal source.
