Interlaced scan - Historically, TV CRTs are interlaced, while computer CRTs are not. Interlaced means that the electron beam skips every other horizontal line, filling in the missing lines on the next pass. A frame is composed of 2 fields. One field is all of the odd numbered lines, and the other field is all of the even numbered lines.
Lines of Resolution - Usually refers to the horizontal resolution capability of the TV, which is an indication of the maximum number of equally spaced black and white vertical line pairs that can be resolved on a TV test pattern. Lines of resolution should not be confused with scan lines.
Portrait, Portrait Mode - The orientation of an image that is taller than it is wide; a setting controlling an output device to properly fit a computer document to the print medium.
Photo Memory Card Slot - Accepts the most popular photo memory cards that are used with digital cameras. The viewer can display still photos using the on-screen menu, and specific photos can be selected for a customized slide show. Hitachi televisions support six different types of photo memory cards ranging from Secure Digital, Memory Stick, Compact Flash, Smart Media, Multimedia Card and IBM Microdrive. Some Hitachi models have a Universal Card slot already built in while others will display digital photos with the use of a PCMCIA adapter card (not provided).
Video Input Labelling - Allows you to assign an on-screen label to each of the video inputs on the TV for easy identification of the video signal source. Video inputs can be labelled VCR, DVD or DBS instead of Video 1, Video 2, etc. Up to eight characters per label can be used.
Horizontal Resolution - The number of vertical lines that a system is capable of producing (counted on a horizontal axis).
