Pixel - A picture element; a single displayable video dot. HDTV requires from 1 to 2 million pixels in the display for full resolution images to be shown.
Digital Zoom - Relates to Hitachi DVD Camcorders.
Terrestrial - A broadcast signal transmitted "over the air" to an antenna.
Hold Switch - Deactivates all other function buttons until hold is switched off.
Saturation - The amount of chroma present in a color. Pastels are low saturation while bright colors are said to be highly saturated.
Codec - This term is short for "Coder-decoder." A codec is a device that converts analog video and audio signals into a digital format for transmission. It also converts received digital signals back into an analog format.
Aperture - The opening within a camera lens system that controls the brightness of the image striking the film. The size of the opening is indicated by the f/number.
