Luminance Noise Reduction (YNR) - In the event of weak signal conditions, YNR reduces video noise (commonly known as "snow") in the picture. Through the menu, an on-screen indicator lets you know if the feature is on or off. For maximum picture detail on a good quality video, YNR should be turned off.
High Speed Shutter - Allows for a sharper picture of a recorded action when played back. Events recorded with a high speed shutter can be paused or played in slow motion with no visual blur. When using a faster shutter speed, more light is required.
Film Speed - The relative index, also called ISO, of how much light a film requires to be properly exposed. A 100 ISO film requires four times the light of a 400 ISO (speed) film for correct exposure. Rule of thumb - Dull day-high speed, bright day-low speed
Beaming - A way to send information between two PDAs via the infrared port. Can also be used to send information to the printer or other devices.
Hitachi Image Engine - Relates to Hitachi DVD Camcorders.
Real Time Counter - A digital tape counter in VCRs, DVDs, DVD/VCR combos and camcorders that indicates elapsed time in terms of actual hours, minutes and seconds.
Fresnel Screen (projection TV) - Helps balance out the light of the image across the screen. Without this screen, there would only be a centre screen bright spot. This screen receives the initial light image from the mirror and is made up of grooves, not unlike the grooves on an original LP record, in a circular pattern.
