Artifact - Unwanted visual anomalies or defects generated by an input or output device, or by a software operation, that degrade image quality.

A/D - Electronic device that connects an analog television signal to a digital system.
IMEI - International Mobile Equipment Identity: a unique number given to every mobile phone and usually found behind the battery. When a phone is reported stolen, the number is marked invalid.
Fps - Frames per Second. To give the illusion of motion, television actually transmits a series of snapshot pictures referred to as frames. Increasing the frame rate improves motion smoothness and may reduce flicker in some displays. In Canada both analog and digital television transmits 30 Fps.
Vertical Edge Correction - This circuit works in conjunction with the digital comb filter in a TV to sharpen the horizontal edges of objects in the picture.
