Aspect Ratio - The relationship of an image's horizontal length and vertical height. The horizontal length number is placed first (i.e. 3 - 2).
Artificial Intelligence Picture Control - Continuously monitors signal conditions to maintain a high degree of contrast in the picture. It looks at all areas of the picture at the same time. If a particular area is too light, AI Picture Control can darken that area without affecting the black level or brightness in the overall picture.
Computer Input - Some HDTV sets have an input like SVGA or VGA that allows the TV sets to be connected to computers.
Smooth - A process that softens, blurs or makes an image, color or pattern to appear out of focus.
Dynamic Bass Boost (DBB) - A special circuit that helps create realistic bass production. Boosting the bass as much as eight decibels (nearly three times more than normal) allows the sound to be rich at all volume levels.
Bit Rate - The rate at which the data is transmitted, expressed as "bits per second" (bps). The higher the bit rate, the more data that is transmitted, generally resulting in better picture or sound quality. Video data rates are usually expressed as Megabits per second (Mbps, 106) and audio data rates in kilobits per second (kbps, 103).
DAT (Digital Audio Tape) - A recording format that is commonly used for data storage and data backup because of its low cost per megabyte.
